I have 3 Sea Air 52 inch ceiling fans on my lanai. One fan stopped working so I ordered the same fan to match the other two. The model was 23566. I received a Sea Air 52 inch model 53054 which appears to be a replacement for model 23566. There were only minor differences in the overall appearances of the two models, nothing that noticeable. So I decided to keep the fan. However, the blade assembly screws for all blades were too long and would not tighten into the blade iron set, so they were useless. Fortunately, I was able to use the blade assembly screws from my old fan model 23566. Hunter needs to be notified of this issue!I've just installed this ceiling fan on a patio with a fairly low roof and it fit well in that space. The blades are only about 9 or 10 inches down from the ceiling.Installation wasn't too difficult but the Neoprene covering around the mounting plate did make it a little difficult to put in the screws. The fan did not wobble even on the highest speed and it did put out a fair amount of breeze on high.It was not as much breeze as an industrial metal fan but it is acceptable for its location. The color depicted in the pictures on this page (as of May 15 2006) is not the color of this fan. It is more of a reddish-bronze brick color. The blades on this fan are plastic with a wood finish instead of real wood. For me that's good because I wanted it for outside and the plastic blades should hold up well.We purchased two of these fans because we own five other Hunter fans and we are familiar with the Hunter reputation; we were not disappointed. These are very attractive and look beautiful on our patio. Their dark bronze color gives them a more masculine look, making them perfect for an outdoor setting. We live in a desert area that gets very little rain, and our summer temperatures can be over 100F. We have frequent wind storms with blowing dust, especially in the spring, and therefore we needed something rugged and weatherproof to survive our climate. We have only owned them a short time, but we have high hopes that they will give us many years of faithful service. They run quietly and flawlessly. We also purchased the Hunter Contemporary 2-Light Fluorescent Outdoor Lights to use with them. We received our order in a timely manner and the fans arrived in perfect condition. We highly recommend these. FYI: I found this exact same fan at Lowe's, but it was almost $100 higher than on Amazon. The only complaint I have about the fan is it does not come with a pull chain attachment. The only pull chain is the small 3 or 4 inch one that sticks out of the base. An attachment with Hunter on it would be nice. For the price you pay, Hunter ought to put one in there. Other brands I have purchased came with attachments with their name on them and were a cheaper price. I don't know if this is something with outdoor fans or what seeing these are the first outdoor fans I have ever purchased. Nice fan though and arrived on time. The fan looks good and made to last. Only time will tell! Easy to install right out of the box with everything needed except the wire. I installed outdoors so I used a 12/2 outdoor wire. It doesn't put out as much air even on high but enough for the small deck I installed it on. I'll probably remove the blades this winter.I purchased two of these fans in August of 2008 and installed them on my open but covered back porch. The fans get no direct sun or rain. Mechanically, the fans have worked fine. However, the white plastic blades have yellowed to the point that I replaced the entire fan. I did not check to see if I could just get replacement blades. Since the fans operate ok, I installed one in my shop and the other in my garage. These are good fans. However, the blades only partially simulate wood and have that plastic look. I was surprised how quiet the fans are. We put them on our updated front porch and they really move the air without being noisy. We also found that they work well with a dimmer switch to vary the speed.... by buying two of these here instead of a box store. We did, and had them installed by a good electrician. The fans are wider than the two in our lanai that they replaced, and move considerably more air. One tip -- these don't come with the (12-inch) downcomer rod that you need to separate them from the ceiling / connection box where you hang them, so make sure you order one of those per fan, as well, in a matching finish.
