The scanner is okay. Not as good as a few models above it though. Have a light that will stay on for more than a couple seconds helps. You also can't name the channels. So you have to know which each is. On my other scanner (Uniden) you can name channels. The real issue is the headphones. They broke 30 minutes into using them. Spilling an oil like liquid all over my face and ear. Trying to clean it up I got even more of it on my hands and clothing. It was a disaster and I ended up just throwing them in a garbage can as I had no real way to carry around nasty, oily eadphones at the event I was at.Bummer
